Iran’s national men’s football team maintained its position in the latest FIFA ranking, which was released on Thursday.
Team Melli stands at 20th place in the ranking.
Meanwhile, Japan continues to hold the title of the best Asian team, securing the 18th spot globally.
The most notable advancements, however, are observed outside the top 100 rankings. Libya (114th, up 6) and Afghanistan (151st, up 7) have shown significant progress. Indonesia (134th, up 8) stands out as the most improved team, propelled by their recent victories over Vietnam during the FIFA World Cup 26 qualifiers.
Moreover, Qatar (34th, up 3) and Comoros (117th, up 4) have also demonstrated noteworthy performances, achieving their highest-ever positions in the ranking.
At the top of the list, the top three nations are led by Argentina, followed by France and Belgium in third place.
The next edition of the FIFA Men’s World Ranking is scheduled to be published on 20 June.
