Iran U17 handball team beats S Korea to win Asia title

The final of the first edition of Asian Men’s U-17 Handball Championship 2025 was held on Thursday night between Iran and South Korea, and ended 28-25 for the Iranian team. This is the first time the Iranian handball team stands on the top of Asia in the boys’ section after 19 years.

The Iranian U17 boys team won all seven of its games to reach the final of these games. In the preliminary stage, the Iranian handball players were pitted against the Maldives, Syria, and South Korea, and with a lead over all of these teams, they advanced to the second round and the President’s Cup stage.

In the second stage, the Iranian team was seeded in a group with Kuwait, the hosts of this tournament Jordan, and Qatar. Iran managed to win all three games to advance to the semi-finals as the group leaders.

Iran U17 boys’ team won the semi-finals against Bahrain 37-19 to reach final against South Korea.
