Iran defeat Australia at 2026 Asian Handball Championship

Iran, who had lost to Saudi Arabia 24-22 in their opening match, will meet Japan on Monday, Vatan News reported.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the main round, which will feature eight teams divided into two groups competing in a round-robin format.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals, in addition to securing direct qualification for the 2027 World Championship.

Qatar are defending champions.
