Iran’s fixtures at 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian Qualifiers announced
TEHRAN – The Iran men’s national basketball team will begin their campaign in the second window of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian Qualifiers on Friday, facing Jordan men’s national basketball team.
The second qualification window runs from Feb. 26 to March 2. Iran, grouped with Jordan, Syria, and Iraq men’s national basketball team in Group C, will play two games during this window. Iran will also take on Syria on Monday.
In the first window, Iran defeated Iraq twice, winning 94–68 and 86–71.
After the opening window, Jordan and Iran lead Group C with four points each, followed by Iraq and Syria with two points apiece.
Under FIBA rules, the top three teams from each group advance to the second round, carrying over their first-round results. Ultimately, three teams from each second-round group and the best fourth-placed team from Asia and Oceania will qualify for the 2027 World Cup.
