Esteghlal held by Zob Ahan in 2025/26 PGPL Matchweek 2

TEHRAN – Esteghlal football team scored a late goal to draw 3-3 with Zob Ahan in Matchweek 2 of the 2025/26 Iran’s Persian Gulf Professional League (PGPL) on Tuesday.

Pouya Mokhtari opened the scoring for visiting team Zob Ahan in the 14th minute in Tehran’s Shahr-e Qods Stadium and Hassan Shoushtari made it 2-0 in the 22nd minute. Alireza Koushki pulled a goal back in the 31st minute but Shoushtari scored his second goal just before the break.

Koushki completed his brace four minutes into the second half and Ramin Rezaeian leveled the score in the injury time.

In Rafsanjan, Tractor and Mes played out a goalless draw, Shams Azar and Chadormalou shared the spoil in a 4-4 draw in Qazvin and Fajr Sepasi edged past Gol Gohar 1-0 in Shiraz.
