Freestylers Amouzad, Azarpira into 2025 World Wrestling Championships final

TEHRAN – Iranian freestyle wrestlers Rahman Amouzad and Amirali Azarpira booked their places in the final matches of the 2025 World Championships.

Amouzad defeated Canadian wrestler Peyman Biabani 5-0 in the semifinals of 65kg. Amouzad will face Japanese gold medal winner of 2024 Olympics on Tuesday.

Azarpira defeated 2024 Olympics champion Akhmed Tazhudinov of Bahrain in the 97kg semifinals.

Azarpira will meet American wrestler Kyle Snyder in the final bout on Tuesday.

The 2025 World Wrestling Championships are being held in Zagreb, Croatia from Sept. 13 to 21.
